AFLDS acknowledges legal action taken against two members of our team related to the events that occurred in Washington on January 6. Both individuals maintain their innocence and were not involved in the despicable actions of extremists who perpetrated the violence. Suggestions to the contrary are categorically false. Efforts to malign this national organization made up of physicians and patients of all backgrounds will be countered with science and facts that can improve the welfare of Americans grappling with the impacts of COVID-19 and other healthcare challenges. Our organization will always stand behind efforts of our members and all Americans to peaceably exercise their First Amendment rights, demand transparency from public and private stakeholders, and maintain their independence from government mandates not backed by science. AFLDS members are committed to the spread of unbiased medical information so that patients can make informed decisions about their healthcare needs. Our organization will continue this critical mission despite this occurrence.
