Media’s top infectious disease expert says he practices poll-tested science Los Angeles, CA – Today America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) criticized Dr. Anthony Fauci for recent comments he made to media outlets regarding the experimental COVID-19 vaccine and herd immunity. In separate interviews with the New York Times and CNN’s “State of the Union,” Fauci changed his prediction for the percentage of the US population required to be vaccinated in order to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus. In November, the NIAID director claimed 70 to 75% of Americans needed to be vaccinated. Fauci explained his reasoning to the Times this way: “I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75 percent,” but “when newer surveys said 60 percent or more would take it, I thought, ‘I can nudge this up a bit,’ so I went to 80, 85.” Fauci later admitted to CNN host Dana Bash that his nearly 90% for herd immunity figure was a “guesstimate.” America’s Frontline Doctors responded to the Fauci flip-flop with the following statement: “Dr. Fauci has demonstrated yet again that he’s no scientist, operates outside of scientific norms, and is cavalier in his public pronouncements.
