In addition to serving in the State Senate from 2017 to 2021, Dr. Jensen has practiced family medicine in Carver County for more than 30 years. An author as well as a pilot, his professional accolades include the Minnesota Family Physician of the Year award from the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians. In April 2020, Dr. Jensen risked his career and professional reputation when he questioned CDC and Minnesota Department of Health guidelines related to death certificates for suspected COVID-19 patients. He soon found his medical license challenged by the state’s Board of Medical Practice and was threatened with cancellation in the mainstream media, simply for defending longstanding practices and medical ethics.
