Under a new policy rolling out this month, left-wing extremists who hate America and want to weaponize children at taxpayer expense need not apply.Critics are fuming. But supporters say it is an important step as government schools — especially in liberal states — push increasingly dangerous and unhinged ideologies. Many “education” systems teach young children they may have been born in the wrong body, for example, and that surgical mutilation of genitals could be the solution.In what is being hailed as a bold move to protect children from such brainwashing, Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters introduced an America‑First certification exam. The test, aimed at teachers fleeing left‑wing strongholds, seeks to ensure that teachers are comfortable with the deep red state’s values.“We will not allow these leftists’ plans and schemes to take place here in Oklahoma,” Walters explained. “They are trying to warp the minds of our kids to turn them into social justice warriors, instead of kids that are getting the most of their God-given talents to go get a good job, to go live a fulfilling life.”The reason New York and California teachers are facing special scrutiny is that they are “teaching things that are antithetical to our standards,” Superintendent Walters told USA Today in an interview. The goal, he continued, is to ensure that teachers coming from those states “are not coming into our classrooms and indoctrinating kids.” “A lot of the credit goes to [California Governor] Gavin Newsom,” Walters said, pointing to the state’s bizarre lessons on “gender theory,” LGBTism, and more. “One of the things that we wanted to do is, first of all, make sure that they’re great teachers, right? And No. 2, make sure we’re not getting these woke, indoctrinating social justice warriors in the classroom.”Speaking to this writer for <a href="https://rumble.com/v5xxxs8-bringing-bible-and-founding-documents-back-to-school-ok-superintendent-of-p.html?e9s=src_v1_s%2Csrc_v1_s_o" id="">a Liberty Pastors session with pastors late last year</a>, Walters said having the Bible and America’s founding documents in schools was critical to having a real education. He also warned that federal intrusion into state and local education systems had been a disaster that needed to be rolled back. &nbsp;Defending Oklahoma’s standards that require true American history and civics as well as Bible lessons, Walters has been one of the most vocal education officials to push back on wokeness. With teachers fleeing from Big Government states that require teaching absurdities such as “27 genders,” Walters said the gains needed to be protected. &nbsp; &nbsp;“These reforms will reset our classrooms back to educating our children without liberal indoctrination,” he wrote earlier this year on social media in defense of the state’s revised standards. “We’re proud to defend these standards, and we will continue to stand up for honest, pro-America education in every classroom.”The Oklahoma Department of Education will administer the test that will determine whether teachers can be certified in the state. It was rolled out in recent days, specifically targeting the Empire State and the Golden State. However, authorities have warned that teachers coming from other far-left states could soon be forced to take it as well. The 50‑question test was developed in partnership with the conservative nonprofit PragerU, which already has materials being used in at least ten Republican states so far. It reads like a curriculum of common‑sense patriotism and basic civics, rather than the far‑left script that so thoroughly dominates “education” in leftist jurisdictions.Among other key topics, it covers foundational issues such as the U.S. Constitution, religion, and yes — even biological gender differences. It is framed through the lens of a worldview rooted in traditional American values. To pass, incoming teachers from leftist states will need to get all the questions right. Representation is determined by population size.</li></ul>Naturally, opponents and the teachers’ unions were in an uproar about it. The far-left Oklahoma Education Association slammed the initiative as a “political stunt to grab attention.” The far-left American Federation of Teachers, meanwhile, claimed that such “vilifying” of teachers would exacerbate the state’s supposed teacher shortage.The mostly impotent Democrats — every county in the state voted for Trump, and most of the Democrats in power there disguise themselves as Republicans — are also fuming. Oklahoma Democratic Party Chairman John Waldron, a former social studies teacher, claimed that people who hate America are not teaching in Oklahoma classrooms.“You don’t sign up to teach schools because you hate America, that’s not who’s teaching in our classrooms,” argued Waldron, apparently oblivious to the extreme left-wing views and radicalism so prevalent in teaching. Blasting the new assessment as a “loyalty test” from “an unaccredited agency,” Waldron said it was “an insult to our profession.”Not everyone in Oklahoma’s education apparatus is on board, either. Some members of the State Board of Education questioned whether Walters overstepped his authority by implementing the test without them. They claim there are legal and procedural concerns surrounding the new tests. Walters pushed back, saying he welcomed legal challenges.With the Left showing its true colors and coming unglued over President Trump’s reforms, experts say conservative states that value patriotism and truth may follow Oklahoma’s lead. Subjecting out-of-state hires to ideology vetting to protect children from dangerous extremism is becoming increasingly appealing as the public wakes up.Not that long ago, it was illegal for communists to teach in many states, as Americans understood the powerful influence that teachers can have on future voters, leaders, and citizens. Unfortunately, communists today not only teach communism as truth, but also gender-bending extremism and all manner of lunacy.These dangerous narratives and ideologies being forced on children in government schools are a mortal threat not just to the children, but to their families, communities, churches, and the Republic itself. Chicago’s government‑school system is doubling down — literally — on its “Sustainable Community Schools” (SCS) program to take over more and more functions once reserved for families, voluntary associations, and churches. It is all part of a push for “equity,” officials said.Under the new plan, the city will be expanding from 20 “sustainable community schools” to almost twice as many for the 2025–26 school year. The August 4 announcement by city officials, union bosses, and government education chiefs came even as the district faces a staggering $734 million budget hole.The idea behind “sustainable community schools” is to provide what government educators refer to as more “services” and even “wraparound services.” Under the so-called “village model,” everything from mental health and dental health to nutrition and “family wellbeing” becomes the government school’s responsibility.Think of them as parental and church replacement centers. Within the institutions, everything for children but the bedtime stories and goodnight hugs — for now — become the responsibility of the state. Even parents can receive myriad “services” from the government schools as they become the new community “hub.”“That means more mental health support, more mentorship programs, more community-oriented events, more access to resources for jobs, housing,” radical left-wing Mayor Brandon Johnson said at the press conference announcing the massive expansion of the controversial program, as if it were government’s job to feed and house the population.Ironically, junk “studies” notwithstanding, the model has already proven to be an utter failure in Chicago when it comes to educating children. Consider the prominent “sustainable community school” known as <a href="https://richards.cps.edu/" target="_blank" id="">Richards Academy in Chicago</a>, which was supposed to show how successful the program would be.It’s true, the school graduated about two thirds of its victims in four years. But Illinois State Board of Education <a href="https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/school.aspx?source=trends&Schoolid=150162990250536" target="_blank" id="">data show</a> the school did not have one single student proficient in either reading or math on standardized tests. How they graduated without even basic proficiency in anything remains a mystery.Yes, really: Despite squandering some $4,000 more in taxpayer money per student, the model “sustainable community school” could not produce a single student proficient in any core subject. That is worse than even traditional government schools. Almost 80 percent of students were chronically absent at the academy, too, state data also show.And yet, thanks to a rapidly growing stream of federal and state funding, the “community school” model is expanding across Chicago and nationwide. Incredibly, even as the atrocious data from the Richards Academy was being publicized, Chicago “educators” celebrated the model.“We have committed as an entire union to using our contract to create more sustainable community schools like Richards Academy,” said Chicago Teachers Union boss Stacy Davis Gates at a press conference last year, calling it the “type of school community that is necessary to nurture, to educate, to reimagine, to ameliorate injustice and disparity.”Davis Gates was also in the news more recently for <a href="https://www.freedomproject.com/2025/06/26/tnr62625/" id="">claiming</a> that children belong to government schools. Speaking to a crowd during <a href="https://youtu.be/WIvJ6eg3w2Q?si=JidYxs8fo6-VehxF" target="_blank" id="">a speech</a> at the City Club of Chicago, she referred to writer and civil rights activist James Baldwin before going on a bizarre tirade.“Baldwin says the children are always ours. Every single one of them, all over the globe,” Davis Gates said in comments that went viral in June. “And what comes next is ‘CTU thinks your children are its children.’ Yes, we do. We do. We do.” Before that, <a href="https://illinoisfamily.org/politics/teachers-union-bureaucracy-in-illinois-fight-trump-on-immigration/" id="">she was attacking federal law enforcement</a> as a “real threat” to students.Speaking at last week’s <a href="https://news.wttw.com/2025/08/04/it-investment-our-future-cps-announces-16-new-sustainable-community-schools" target="_blank" id="">announcement</a> about the expansion of community schools, the CTU boss was gushing about her influence in it all. “What you see today is an expansion of community, an expansion of hope, an expansion of what young people deserve,” she said, touting the role of CTU’s “collective bargaining agreement” in expanding the scheme.Chicago Public Schools already spends $10 million annually for its existing 20 “sustainable community schools.” And with the CPS facing a $750 million budget shortfall this year, officials are working to extort taxpayers across the state and the nation for even more cash to step in and fill the gap.“The challenges that we are facing are severe,” Mayor Johnson said, claiming that more taxpayer spending on “services” for students would address the “root cause” of violence. “So here’s what I can say is that, as a collective, we’re working to ensure that, you know, this year’s budget allows for these investments to be maintained.”The far-left mayor also called on parents to lobby. “We’re going to need those same parents who are concerned, like all of us, to work with the General Assembly to ensure that they are fully funded as a district,” he said, claiming he “inherited a really reckless, irresponsible budget.”But regardless of the crushing cost to overburdened taxpayers, interim CPS CEO Macquline King said it must be done. Indeed, she suggested that government usurpation of more and more responsibility for the lives of children and their families was the only way for anyone to be able to make it in life.“I believe that students can only succeed and learn when they are supported, and that’s what this village model does,” King said in one of many nods to Hillary Clinton’s collectivist vision of a “village” raising children rather than parents. In short, government — not family, God, church, or individual initiative — is the key.Most of the Chicago schools selected for transformation are in poorer areas, though the model will eventually become ubiquitous if not stopped. Illinois is one of many states that, using federal funding, have unleashed the “community school” model on an unsuspecting population that does not realize the “free stuff” is part of a trap.Just consider the radically expanded “mental health” component — one of the major elements of “sustainable community schools.” While purporting to be about helping children, the “mental health” schemes are really a trojan horse for social engineering, gathering sensitive data, and drugging children while enriching Big Pharma.Even more alarming, “mental health” and “equity” are increasingly serving as cover for psychologically grooming children to embrace gender fluidity, hyper-racialism, and climate hysteria — indoctrination with views directly at odds with a biblical understanding of critical issues such as creation, sin, and family.Ironically, the more government takes over from families and churches with its godless and oftentimes pagan indoctrination programs, the worse children’s “mental health” becomes. In fact, suicide among children — now a leading cause of death among youth — surge while school is in session. Children need God and family, not “wraparound services” from bureaucrats.The term “sustainable” should be a dead giveaway, too. The term has been used by the United Nations for decades now to push its agenda of globalism, environmentalism, feminism, collectivism, and more. And as the UN has said openly in its own agreements, “education” is the most crucial part of changing the attitudes of the next generation.The “full-service community schools” <a href="https://thenewamerican.com/us/education/obamas-community-schools-aim-to-replace-parents/" id="">model really took off in America under the Obama administration</a>, led by leftwing ideologues who wanted to further empower government. As part of the “Every Student Succeeds Act” and other legislation, huge sums of U.S. taxpayer money were handed out nationwide to create the institutions.Proponents at the U.S. Department of Education boasted that these federally funded institutions would “target” families and children for “services” covering their “academic, physical, social, emotional, health, mental health, and other needs.” The real goal, though, was always a fundamental transformation.Despite the nice-sounding intentions, this is not “charity.” It is a calculated bid to erode parental authority and supplant the traditional family and the church with an all-powerful state that controls and guides its dependents from cradle-to-grave. The indoctrination, sexualization, and dumbing down of children are all part of the agenda.Education reform pioneer Horace Mann, the utopian who imported the Prussian regime’s educational system to America in the mid-1800s, boasted that educators were “entitled to look upon all parents as having given hostages to our cause.” Chicago’s ruling class appears to agree.John Dewey, the father of progressive education and a signatory of the <a href="https://americanhumanist.org/what-is-humanism/manifesto1/" target="_blank" id="">Humanist Manifesto</a> rejecting God, admired the Soviet regime’s schools because they replaced family upbringing with state “socialization.” Today, Chicago’s “sustainable community” schools are seeking to do exactly that.Contrast their vision with God’s Word. In Deuteronomy 6 and 11, parents are commanded to teach their children about God and His ways “when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” In Chicago and beyond, government has nearly succeeded in usurping that completely.The Sustainable Community Schools emerging across Chicago and the nation represent a turning point. Public education is rapidly moving away from even the pretense of imparting knowledge toward an outright hostile takeover of every facet of a child’s life and upbringing. The Democratic attorneys general of 17 states and the District of Columbia have filed a citizen’s <a href="https://agportal-s3bucket.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/CitizenPetition_20250820.pdf?VersionId=ykGGuu3F3QVYDYWMEVPCI8hMtKtG7XSx" id="">petition</a> with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) demanding the agency lift safety restrictions on the abortion pill mifepristone.The petition—originally filed in June by California, New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey—asks the FDA to remove a set of restrictions called a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS). Under this framework, pharmacies must obtain special certification to dispense mifepristone, medical providers must register to prescribe the pill, and women must sign a waiver acknowledging that they are voluntarily terminating their pregnancy before receiving a prescription.On August 20th, attorneys general from 13 more states—Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawai‘i, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, and Washington—joined the petition to remove REMS, which has been in place for mifepristone since 2011.The REMS framework has been applied to 300 other drugs, <a href="https://archive.is/yaoK0" id="">according</a> to the New York Times. But the attorneys general are claiming that mifepristone already has established safety data since its FDA approval in 2000, and that REMS restrictions are impacting distribution of the pill.&nbsp;“These extra and unnecessary requirements, which apply to almost no other drugs the FDA regulates, discourage medical professionals from providing medication abortion when they already have the appropriate training to administer the drug,” Washington Attorney General Nick Brown said in a <a href="https://www.atg.wa.gov/news/news-releases/ag-brown-petitions-fda-remove-burdensome-restrictions-mifepristone" id="">press release</a>.The AGs are also taking issue with Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for ordering a complete safety review of mifepristone in May. AG Brown blamed the decision to review the drug as a “response to political pressure,” but it was in fact in response to new data calling the pill’s safety into question.<h2 id="">Mifepristone safety</h2>In April, the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) <a href="https://eppc.org/publication/stop-harming-women/" id="">published</a> the largest-ever study on mifepristone. Using an insurance claims database, researchers analyzed 865,727 mifepristone abortions between 2017 and 2023. They found that within 45 days of taking the pill, 10.93% of women experienced serious adverse events such as sepsis, infection, cardiac issues, anaphylaxis, or hemorrhage. EPPC notes that this rate is at least 22 times higher than the 0.5% rate displayed on the drug label.Pro-abortion activists, including legacy media outlets, are trying to discredit the study by pointing out that it has not been peer-reviewed or published in a medical journal, that the researchers lack medical training, and that the authors did not disclose which insurance database they used for their data collection.The FDA’s prescribing label for mifepristone warns that between 2.9% and 4.6% of women who take the pill require ER visits.Last year, a team of researchers from the Charlotte Lozier Institute teamed up with physicians from the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists to conduct a <a href="https://aditum.org/journals/international-journal-of-epidemiology-and-public-health-research/article-in-press/1250" id="">study</a> on mifepristone by analyzing ER visits. The researchers selected four cohorts of women: women with no pregnancies, women who gave birth, women who had surgical abortions, and women who had chemical abortions by taking mifepristone. Using data from 2004 to 2015, they looked for any increase in ER visits by these women within 30 days of their outcomes. The group with no pregnancies was analyzed according to all their visits across the 11-year period. They discovered that ER visits among women who gave birth increased by 9.2%, among women with no pregnancies by 42.8%, among women who had surgical abortions by 280.4%, and among women who took mifepristone by 2,649.7%. There was a similar scale for ER visits coded as “severe” or “critical.”Planned Parenthood nonetheless <a href="https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/abortion/the-abortion-pill/how-safe-is-the-abortion-pill" id="">describes</a> mifepristone as “very safe” and CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/health/abortion-pill-safety-dg/index.html" id="">says</a> it’s even safer than low-risk drugs like penicillin.&nbsp;<h2 id="">Who makes mifepristone?</h2>When the FDA approved mifepristone in 2000, it took great care to conceal certain information. All documents related to the approval have been redacted so that government employee names and the location of the manufacturer, Danco Laboratories, remain hidden.To this day, the location of Danco Laboratories is not known to the public. The company uses a P.O. box as its address, is not listed on any public exchanges, and refuses to disclose the identities of its executives. <a href="https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2023-04-13/why-youve-never-heard-of-the-company-behind-the-abortion-pill" id="">According</a> to the LA Times, Danco says this is because it fears violence from pro-life groups, though there have been no reports of attacks on Pfizer, which manufactures misoprostol. Misoprostol is a pill used together with mifepristone as part of the chemical abortion regimen.‍

The AGs also take issue with HHS Secretary Kennedy for ordering a complete safety review of the drug

A group called Queers for Palestine shut down Ottawa’s annual Capital Pride parade on Sunday after the city refused to meet its demands.The parade was already underway when Queers for Palestine activists blocked the road and halted the procession. They issued demands from parade organizers, including that Capital Pride commit to a cultural and academic boycott of Israel and hold a "boycott, divestment and sanctions" town hall. According to a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DNwUR352kw4/" id="">statement</a> posted to Instagram, Queers for Palestine also demanded that Mayor Mark Sutcliffe apologize “for boycotting Pride last year, due to its pro-Palestine stance - and to pledge his support to our community and to all oppressed peoples, including Palestinians.”The activists blamed Sutcliffe for not acceding to their demands and vowed to keep fighting for their “queer kin in Gaza and Palestine,” even though there are no such identifiable “kin” because homosexuality is punished in Gaza and Palestinian areas. They concluded their statement with the genocidal chant, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!”Queers for Palestine were reportedly given 20 minutes by Grand Marshal Patience Plush to block the parade and stage their protest, but they still refused to disperse over an hour later. Capital Pride said the group "refused to have a meaningful discussion about how to move forward.”"After over an hour of attempting to resolve the stoppage, it became clear that Q4P was unwilling to engage in a good faith conversation and was insistent on misrepresenting our discussions," Capital Pride organizers said in a statement. "The decision to cancel was not taken lightly, and we understand and appreciate the impact it had on our community — including over 7,000 people from more than 175 groups who showed up to march today."In his own statement, Sutcliffe said it was "deeply regrettable that a group of activists chose to block the parade, ultimately leading Capital Pride officials to cancel the event."Canadian media appeared flummoxed about how to frame the incident.
