AFLDS Calls Possible Restrictions on Freedom of Movement by Biden Administration Unconstitutional and Not Medically Warranted

Published reports suggest administration mulling steps to contain mutant coronavirus strains with limits on movement Los Angeles, CA – America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) today issued the following statement in response to published reports that the Biden administration could roll out constitutionally dubious restrictions on millions of Americans traveling to and from states like Florida where variants of the coronavirus have been identified: “The Biden administration’s consideration of restrictions on Americans’ freedom of movement should trouble everyone. What President Biden is reportedly considering is not only unconstitutional but medically and scientifically illiterate. Limiting freedom of movement every time this coronavirus virus mutates, which is consistent and normal in the life cycle of a pathogen, is ludicrous. Telling millions of Americans – many of whom may have had the virus and recovered unknowingly – that they cannot freely travel will not stop the spread of this or any virus. This latest trial balloon floated by public health experts close to President Biden is more proof that the administration doesn’t have the sweeping set of plans candidate Biden promised to combat the virus and represents instead nothing more than a naked power grab.”
